EL TRAPICHE RESTUARANTE nace en 1983 con la idea de traer a la ciudad capital los sabores del interior del país. En ese entonces, tres socios: Alfonso Jaén, Domingo de Obaldía y Santiago Anguizola, decidieron utilizar El Trapiche como un foro en donde promover sus recetas familiares oriundas de Chiriquí y Provincias Centrales.

Hoy, a más de 30 años de su fundación, El Trapiche sigue siendo el máximo referente en gastronomía tradicional panameña y seguimos con la misión de proteger y enaltecer nuestra cultura culinaria.

About Us

EL TRAPICHE RESTAURANT begins its story in 1983 when three friends decided to bring the flavors of the Panamanian countryside to the City. Alfonso Jaén, Domingo de Obaldía and Santiago Anguizola (all of them with roots in different regions of our country) each brought their own family recipes to create a menu which really offers a taste of Panama with all its regional nuances.

Today, after more than 30 years in operation, we consider ourselves much more than just a restaurant, but safe-keepers of Panama´s culinary traditions.
